Swiss summer

This summer has been a bit weird. It was warm, then it was rainy, then it was really hot and seldom was it comfortable. Until now. Was on the lake today, as well as last week, and it was fab. Just the right temperature, and a little bit of wind. Exactly like I like it.

Just too bad it's already August.

Taking the boat out on Friday again, bringing a friend, but on Saturday no way. It's Streetparade again. Wow, the years really fly by.

Was texting a friend the other day, congratulating her on her birthday saying something like "soon we're gonna be old", and her reply was "Never! We are never getting old".

Ok, I can agree with that, but then the years have to stop going so quickly!

Summertime

As usual my aunt reminded me that this weekend we are going to summertime. And I dunno, wasn't very drunk when I got home on Friday evening but had it in my head, and changed all my clocks.

But what the hell, I am usually before my time anyway, so the fact that I was one hour ahead for a day was just fun.

Then I was checking the weather for the coming week, and it looks great. Up to 20°, obviously more in the sun, and I'm thinking boat.

Already have the foetus of a tan, having sat on the balcony in the sun.

Yes, this is gonna be a great summer!

Spring!

On my balcony 20 degrees and sunshine, me in shorts and a top, ciggies and a glass of white on the table, feet up and a book in my hand.

Life is goooood!

Spring in Zürich

Well, almost summer today...above 20°. Balcony is clean and furniture ready for many an evening with friends, sipping a glass of cold white or perhaps strawberry wine.

Summer

The summer is truly here. Last couple of weeks I have used my balcony for dinners several times. It is fantastic sitting out there, overlooking (partly at least) the city. It's like my own little oasis. Yesterday we grilled and had salad, mushroom and other grill paraphernalia. Yummie. Then we had to try the Turkish raki that the Istanbul travellers brought back last week, "because it tastes so good together with water melon". Nah it doesn't I can honestly say. Think cat pee would be preferrable. Not too keen on this baklava either. Far too sweet if you ask me. Seems the further you go east, the more sweet the desserts. Soon invited an apero (another one!). Always a reason to party in the summer!

Der Böög 2010

It's gonna be a fabulous summer. The snowman blew up in less than 13 minutes. Cannot wait. Today was 20°C +, and my plants are sprouting flowers. Even the parsley plants are showing...well something that looks green. This is the beginning...

Spring is here!

The tree is a magnolia I've learned. And the other ones are...flowers.

Clean balcony

Took advantage of the weather today and scrubbed my balcony free from burglar footprints, dead birds and general shit. Cannot wait to get some furniture out there and start enjoying the summer!!!

The perfect day

My day was as close to perfection as you can get. At least in my world. Nice sleep-in (and mind you, I didn't wake up alone :), then a brunch at my new fav place sitting outdoors. Followed by 4 hours on the lake. It was basically me, two sail boats and lotsa uniformed policemen checking on the football hooligans. Exactly why they chose to do that on the lake is beyond me, but far be it for me to complain! In the evening I had dinner with a good friend, and in the end listened to some really good live music at the place of my choice. My kinda day. Wish there were 364 more of them!

According to plan

Well, like I said the plan will change, and it did. Not much though. Met up with the Americans. The gays bailed out (and here was I thinking gays were trustworthy...hmmm). But we ended up in my place. And apparently I have some sleep to catch up on. V. tired. More tomorrow...or whenever I feel like it :). Or am I getting old? Like suggested in previous items? Naaah, that ain't it. Just a tiny glitch :)

Plan

So this is the plan for the weekend, which obviously will change, it always does, but still. Tonight farewell drinks for the Americans who're going back to their prude little bubble village in North America tomorrow. After that meeting up with not so prude people, read gays. And yet after that, of course I'll end up in my place for some more drinks and fun. Tomorrow is washing day for me and shopping day for M. Then dinner in the evening with good friends. And whaddayaknow, it looks like the Sunday weather forecast is working with me this week, so the boat is probably a safe bet. Hurray! It's weekend...

The heat is on

Even though it's Friday the 13th the summer decided to come back. Excellent! Only I was so tired this evening I fell asleep. Shame on me! Friday evening and all. Now I must wake up, change, have a drink and go out. Tomorrow I have a guest from the big country in the west. An old friend who's coming to stay for a few nights. Will be nice.

Happy camper

NOT!!! So I get up early on my first day of holiday, in order to go 6 stops with the bus to pick up that registered letter than someone sent me. Only to be told that they had given me the wrong post office address, and that I had to go to another office. IRRITATED! So hop on the tram, and go to the next office. But hey! Where is it? It's not where it used to be. So asked a lady on the street (in my best German, which obviously wasn't very good since she switched to English immediately...) who told me that this office was closed. For good. And that I now had to go to...guess where? The post office located in my nearest Coop. I couldn't believe it. Ok, so then I walked to Coop to finally pick up the letter. And guess what it was!!! A fucking raise of my rent! I should've just let them send the friggin letter back...

And I'm going on

...summer holiday. Tomorrow. Normally when I have vacation coming up I'd be out partying until the wee hours...but heck no. Not tonight. Am totally beat and cannot stop yawning. So it'll be a small break in the blogging routine. Hope you'll miss me :)

Sunday in Zürich

It is great waking up to blue sky, sunshine and about 28°C. So off to pick up friend at 12 and then guess what...yes of course...we're off on the boat. I'm bringing the leftovers from Friday, and a few bottles of chilled white. Then straight to early dinner this evening with another friend. There is no rest for the wicked :)

Summer is back

Looking through my window I can see summer is back. Great! So no need to dig up the old winter clothes. Dinner this evening boys?

Air mattress

Am about to go to bed, considering I have to get up at 6 in the morning! Boat school remember? Anyway, when we got home from the lake I asked my friend to help with my air mattress. He has an automatic pump. Good. Tiny problem was that it was connected to his car battery (lack of adapter-problem) but we solved it through having him bring the air mattress to the car. Easy. So there he was. Pumping. It took some time but finally it worked. Imagine our disappointment when we 2 hours later realized air was seeping out somewhere. Located the problem (or so we think!) to one of the plugs. Friend suggested to manually pump it up again and asked me to step on the mattress to check. I giggled rather loudly. Only to realize flatmate is sleeping. Ouch. Friend said: "he probably wonders what we do". Told him that I would tell him the true. We're just pumping away...
