I have never been to an Arab country before, and can honestly say it was the first and last time. Had my doubts already before I went, and now I know for sure.
But I must say that it was a pleasure flying Emirates. Ok, so flying economy is never a pleasure, but at least the service and the entertainment was great. Food was not bad either. The flight information was left to imagination though (but yes, it was also shown in English).
Several hundred movies to choose from and I saw Mamma Mia, Australia, Slumdog millionaire and others. Funny though, it is hard to remember a movie you saw on a flight. Becomes a blur after a while. Nothing to do with the free wine they serve I'm sure.

Emirates is a great airline to fly, but admittedly Dubai airport is the closest I have gotten to visiting an Arabic country (unless you count Morocco) and it hasn't exactly inspired me to want to explore it further.
Countries where they oppress women are not the top of my list to visit.
