Swiss passport?

In about two years I have been in Switzerland for ten years. I am thinking about getting a Swiss passport then. Just because I'm planning to stay here for the rest of my life. Therefore I have asked around what is required. Some people tell me they had to go through extensive screening with interviews in German (or Switzedütch?) about politics and naming all the cantons. This will cause a bit of a problem for me, but I have engaged a friend to teach me. Mind you, he's not Swiss (well, he's a paper Swiss, having the passport already), but he probably knows more than the general Swiss person about these things. One person told me that they check with the neighbours, and that you're not always drinking and misbehaving. No problem I thought, since I drink a lot but with the neighbours. Another one told me he whizzed by the questioning with no problems. He only got one question: "how many parliamentarians are there in Zürich?". And he knew the answer! If this is what's required I'm screwed. But now I know how many parlamentarians there are in Zürich. You curious :)? 125! Unless he lied to me, then I'm really screwed!

I assume you've seen Die Schweizermacher - apparently that will tell you all the joys of becoming Swiss. Sounds like you'll need the next 2 years to prepare!

Never heard of, but googled it now. Seems like they are setting up a musical based on the movie. Might be worth a visit!
