I got inspired the other day after watching this idiotic tv-show about how some people try to save money.
For me it's more about saving money and saving the environment. That's how I grew up. But not just that, also saving without being stupid.
So, my first lesson is to generate money. Work and save. Most of us are working for somebody else. That has advantages, like safety, no risk, go to work every Monday-Friday, collect your pay and go home. Other people choose to have their own companies, which if they're successful, will give more money but also a greater risk if they don't perform.
I have always belonged to the first category. Work, go home, get your money. And save.
I saved my first money when I was fifteen. I was working summertime in a kiosk at a camping site, serving fresh bread, milk and whatsit to people on holiday. I got so much money I couldn't believe. And if I compare it to today, it was nothing. But to me at the time, it meant a lot.
Most of it I saved, but I also spent some. And I believe still today that's what you're supposed to do. Spend some, but keep most of it for days to come.
