After not having used Excel for quite a long time, my brain has gone a bit mushy. I no longer can figure out how to calculate things cleverly. And honestly, I cannot be arsed anymore.
So I emailed a friend to ask if he had time to look at a sheet I made to measure my heating usage, which is above what it should be.
His answer was "At least that way I can nearly guarantee that I won't be deleted from yearly mobile phone cull". Haha. So he's reading the blog.
Let's see what he can do to get my heat down.

wow, that's a lot politer answer than I would have expected for asking a friend to do something because you can't be arsed to do yourself

It's not that I cannot be arsed, I did try but couldn't figure out the best way. Mind you, he's also struggling a bit.
ah, I see, maybe that "I cannot be arsed" in your original post confused me ;).
Sounds like a very complicated sheet for measuring heating usage!

It is, since I haven't read the meter on a regular basis, and that we only get the actual usage in arrears a year later. There is also a comparison to other flats in the house, as well as winter and summer time to take into account. Never mind, I have a sheet now that works. I only have to read the meter more often, and keep track of usage.
