I'm really starting to regret I bought that lamp. Still think it is fab, but all the work that comes with it, makes me think twice about buying something on the net ever again.
Had an electrician over today, who informed me that the cables in the ceiling are fine, but that something within the lamp doesn't work. Had him phone the company I bought the lamp from to explain.
Now the following is going to happen.
1. I have to take the lamp apart again. Good thing it didn't take more than 2 (!!!) hours to put together.
2. They will send me a new lamp.
3. My friend and I will have to put the new lamp together and fasten it in the ceiling. Again.
4. I have to pack up the old lamp and send it back to the company I bought it from.
5. Upon receipt, they will reimburse me for the postage. Generous, ain't it? I requested that they'll reimburse me for the electrician too, and was told they will "think about it".
This lamp better be looking pretty darn good when connected!

wow, what a pain, but it does look like rather a complicated light - probably would have been close to as much trouble if you'd bought it from a shop.
Yes, but now I have all the trouble. Had I bought it from a shop here in Zürich, I would've had them come to fix it.
