Today I did something I've never done before. I bought kids clothes. It surprised me that we haven't come any further, there's still pink for girls and blue for boys. To me this is neanderthal thinking.
But digging down deep, I finally found something that would fit. Purple! And with a cat! I mean, the soon-to-be-born-girl has to know where her clothes are coming from.
And on the way out I caved in with the pink. The "Born 2012" socks were too cute to pass.

I was very surprised by this too, its either pink, blue or white which I coulndt understand 'cos white seems so impractical for a baby. but now have learnt its so you can wash the crap out of it (literally) without the colour running or fading
We have come further. In the 1800s and as late as the 1940s it was pink for boys and blue for girls. Blue was seen as a more serene colour, possibly relating to the Virgin Mary symbolism. Pink was seen as the stronger colour.
And well done; an entire blog page without a reference to cats.
Not fair! Plenty of items not mentioning cats. In fact, most of them.
Very Proud of you
