You're welcome and then you're not

I just love ze Swiss way of communicating. A couple of times lately I have been invited to a do with a starting time and an ending time. Like you're welcome from four to six in the afternoon.

I can understand why, you have something else on or you have small kids or just don't want people to hand around too long. I love it! There is a clear message, you know what's expected, no more no less.

But you can expect me to be there exactly between the times stipulated :).

Since the latest one didnt come from a Swiss person I don't think you can claim this is a Swiss way of communicating.
In our case at least its meant to be that people are welcome to turn up any time between x and y, and shouldnt feel expected to turn up at exactly x

Oh no, why let the truth get in the way of a good blog post :) ?

But I did have such an invitation not long ago by Swiss people. Come at a certain time, leave at a certain time.
