In England it's really not on to go out by yourself to a pub in the evening. At least not if you're a woman. These oldfashioned guys will immediately think you're a prostitute looking for some action. So being a good girl I stayed in the hotel for the evening. Turned out to be a real happenin' place in the restaurant. NOT!

'a happenin' place'
what? since when? I've had many a great night out after venturing to a British pub by myself. true, sometimes there's some unwanted attention but there's a certain bar in Zuri I can think of thats just as bad if not worse.
You know you just love that place! Yes, in London I certainly would've gone out, but this was a village. And frankly, I just couldn't be bothered.
'a happenin' place'
but village pubs in England are the best ones!
