Oh so subtle

The new neighbours picked up the subtle hint of "well, in this house you have to invite the neighbours to be accepted" very well. This afternoon we were all invited, and most of the neighbours showed up. It's good to see them, because even if we live in the same house we have different timing and do not cross paths very often.

And when I gently suggested that the new neighbours would come with us to the city this eve, they were delighted. So they have now seen my bar/restaurant in town, and even though I'm not sure it'll be their second living room, I'm pretty sure they think that this is unique.
