Had a neighbour visiting today. She told me a funny story. Not funny-funny since somebody died in the end of it, but still.
Yet another neighbour of ours has reptiles. Not sure what sort, but she measured like 40 cm's, I guess it's like crocodile-looking creatures.
One day when she was looking after them, when neighbours were on holiday, one of them seemed dead. Or at least didn't move. She couldn't get hold of the owner so left it overnight.
Next day she went there, armed with gloves and a box. Only to realize the supposedly dead reptile was gone. She raced back, screaming to her husband, "the other one ate it"!
The husband is a more quiet one, not easily upset, and told her there is no way an animal can eat an equally sized reptile. I'm not sure, but don't snakes do that?
Anyway, it turned out that the son of the neighbours had been there before her, found the dead animal and buried it in the garden.
Personally, I don't understand how people can have crawly things as pets. I don't care if you're allergic. You cannot cuddle with a mini-crocodile. So what's the point?
