Went shopping today in my 'hood, and I must say I'm proud of how it develops. In the center of our "kreis", i.e. city area, they are renovating like crazy. New bus stops, buildings built and renovated, new and fresh shops. Around the square is now Migros, Coop and Denner, a pharmacy, restaurants, an ATM, a bakery and wait...a Brockenhaus? Brockenhaus is where they sell old and used stuff that smell bad.
But no, as it turned out it wasn't. I have passed this shop many times but never actually gone in there. Today I did, and was surprised that there was absolutely no smell of old, and they had all sorts of thingies for a very cheap price. Including a purple blanket that I almost bought. Until I realized I have enough of them already.
So for Christmas presents no need to go into the crowded city, it's all here in my own neighbourhood. Neat!

Brockis area great!!! (well, not all). Cheap, often supporting a charity, and a much lower footprint than the standard consumerism, plus you get stuff no one else has.
B
Still, none of that old smelly stuff is getting into my apartment.
