Permit
Yesterday morning I went to apply for an extension of my permit, since I've now been here for 5 years. It didn't go so well.
Of course I tried my best German, and I asked if I could apply for a permanent residence permit as to avoid having to keep on applying. Yes, that was possible. The guy told me just to write a note in the comments section of the application. Aaaarrrgh! My German is not good enough for writing formally, so I did it all in English. It just doesn't look very good to apply for a permanent permit in Switzerland. In English.
Bet I won't get it. But they cannot refuse me a temporary permit, so I should be safe. But I have to wait something like 3 months before I know.
In the meantime they took my current permit, so now I have nothing. When I asked they said I won't be needing it. So why am I then applying for a new one? If I won't need it?
Swiss logic, I tell ya.

'Permit'
good luck, I know the Swiss dont like to give those things away too easily. but at least you have the advantage of being white and Western European.
couldnt you have taken the form home and got M to help you out with the German?
Well, the man was stressing me a bit, and didn't seem like he was interested in helping. I just wanted to get it over with.
