Another thing we talked about this evening was how food is produced, and how we like to buy things that are manufactured and grown close to where we live.
Then we found this Migros website, which we immatediately tested, and found my egg! Well, one of the eggs I had bought. And that's all good and reassuring, until I read they have 5,900 chickens. Are they really all roaming around in the fields?
Maybe this should be my next project? Going there and actually see for myself? 'Cause I am skeptical, having 5,900 chickens all moving around in green areas, as free as a bird so to speak?
Really, who can you trust these days?
PS. Migros is still persuing this "clean and green" image, and refuse to sell tobacco and alcohol. However, they did buy Denner a few years ago, and Denner mainly profits on exactly that, cig and alco. My eggs were bought at Denner, and could be tracked via the Migros website. Well, as they say here in Switzerland, money doesn't smell.

I think eggs can be called free-range as long as there is a theoretical possibility for the chickens to roam outside, but that doesnt mean they actually can or do. Hmmm, from reading the website looks like I better switch to bio eggs.
I'm certainly not a bio person, but for eggs I can make an exception.
