Civil unrest

I am rarely disappointed, but tonight I was. I knew very well that it was the last night smoking in Zürich so made sure I visited my fav places. What I didn't expect was a sudden stop at midnight. I thought ze Swiss still were...well reasonable. I was wrong.
But maybe it was just the place I was in. At midnight sharp the ashtrays were removed, and we were directed outside. I thought they were joking. Really. I actually was expecting that tonight would be the last smoking night, until the place closed. I was wrong.
Was told by the waitress that it would cost her (or I guess the bar) 80 francs if I was found smoking in their bar. Yeah, that's very likely the police would stop by a bar in a residential area just to remove me! Too bad. I was warming to the place. But now, after having been treated like an outlaw, I doubt I will go there again.

wow, that is indeed crappy behaviour. I may not be the biggest smoking fan, but surely you gotta allow people their one last hurrah. The Swiss do like thier rules though
