Catastrophe

Whenever I have guests I like to relax by watching some television on the net after they left. I guess most people would watch television on the actual tv set, but here in Switzerland everything is in either German, French or Italian. Nuff said. Yesterday it turned out to be impossible. "Upgrade to Adobe Flash Player more than 9.0". So I tried. And tried. And tried. And tried. All the time it said "cannot continue unless you shut off msn messenger". Or something like it. I did. I signed out. And signed out. And signed out. In the end I gave up and went to bed, being frustrated thinking I can never watch tv on the net again. This morning I got up, thinking that overnight the idiots managing these updates have gotten enough feedback to fix the problem. They hadn't. So emailed a good friend of mine who is an IT nerd. And lo and behold, within a few minutes I got an answer. Right-click on the toolbar, shut off the live messenger process, then try to install the upgrade. It worked! J, you are a genius!
