Updates updates updates

I know it's a competitive market out there, but do communication tools need to be updated all the time? As soon as I've gotten used to the look on msn, skype or email it changes. It's not that I cannot work out how to use it, but what's the need for all these updates? Sometimes I think they do the updates just to do it. Make it feel hotter and better, even though the use is still the same. Think I might become old and conservative, and which better country to live in than Switzerland then?
