Have a current neighbour who is from Bern originally. What I have learned in my years in Switzerland is that Berners are looked at as a bit slow. Well, very slow to be honest.
My limited experience says that they don't say much, but when they speak it's something to remember. Well, usually.
Perhaps it comes from them speaking slowly. But having met the couple from Bern today I think it applies only to ze Swiss.
