Facebook sucks and blogs live forever
When I first registered in a fake name at Facebook I realized that it wasn't something for me. First, the people I want to communicate with I already know and have email, msn-names, phone numbers and addresses to. Second, it's impossible to de-register, to cancel an account. The news just reported it, but it's always been like that. They want to have all sorts of personal details from me, and then keep it. Sorry guys, this is not on.
At the same time I notice that I have still about one reader a day on my old blog that I stopped blogging on December 2006. How weird is that?
I guess one could say that blogs are here to stay (and so is apparently Facebook as sad as it is). How long before free providers realize how much space it takes up and when they start to impose charges for blogs no longer in use? I wish I knew how to put in a counter on this blog...

but clearly facebook has its uses, at least for people like your flatmate. Personally I also think its stupid but somehow cant bring myself to give it up - I think I must be into voyeurism (but not into telling everyone else about me), its unbelievable the amount of personal detail people will post on their facebook page
Good point, but I prefer the feel-and-touch in real life. I am old-fashioned :)
