Apparently "Der Witz ist nicht um die Ecke". Again, spoke to this German guy and he had no clue about the saying "the joke is around the corner" and he was from Bavaria. I'm giving up. Why learn the funny things in German, when you're not sure everybody will understand it?
In fact, why learn German at all?
