Fritz
The other evening I met a guy called Fritz. I know, Fritz is in line with Helmut when it comes to sounding German. But in this case it's different. My grandfathers name was Fritz.
Unfortunately he died when I was 8 years old so I don't have really vivid memories of him, but what I do remember is that he used to hide chocolate in a drawer in the kitchen. I also remember me visiting and walking straight to that particular drawer. Can you blame me?
So for me Fritz is good. Helmut is not. Irrational? Of course.

I dont know anyone called Fritz, or Helmut, but still think Fritz, despite sounding German, is a kinda cool name and Helmut is clearly not
Yes!
"Fritz"
Although you never know what kind of person is behind a name I can tell from my German experience the following:
Fritz sounds: funny, open, impish, optimistic....
Helmut sounds: boring, neutral, unspectacular...
Anyway, I know somebody who's name is Helmut and he is a really nice guy.
Ze German
