Brainstorming

Trying to come up with a good poem for a wedding card. So far I googled:

Hatless

Nah, I'm not gonna get a hat for the wedding. What a stupid idea! If you think about it, how many people do you see on the street who wears a hat? Which means that there are virtually no stores who sell them, and those who do, charge a fortune. And they're all ugly, trust me, I checked.

I came up with another idea. I got one of those steely bands you put on your head (glittery with silver!), and I'm gonna stick a flower in it. A live one. I'll find one on site I'm sure.

A cheap solution, but a better one I think. After all, if I for once in my life is gonna have my hair done nicely, I don't want to cover it under a hat!

Svalbard

All of a sudden I am surrounded by people who find it necessary to marry. A couple I know are planning to get married at Svalbard! What a weird place to choose. Well, any place is weird if you ask me when it comes to marriage, but freezing your butt off on top of it? Hmmm.

Everything's a competition

Haha, cousin beat Bro to it and married the other day without anybody knowing. There is a lot to be said for weddings like that. No trouble, no people, no organization, no nothing. Me likey very much.

Suppose it helps that they've been together for ages and already have two kids.

And from the pic you might think that the guy with the belly is my relative, but that's where you're wrong. I am related to the little one to the right. Blond and blue-eyed, what can I say? We're walking clichés.

But since we're family, good luck is what I really want to say.

Wedding cancellation?

When I was part of the wedding planning session from hell it was decided that the invitations would be out to the invitees on the 15th of January. That was yesterday, and there is no invite in sight. I wonder if this means that the wedding will be postponed? Perhaps not happen at all?

Twisted sister

As being hired without pay to do some sort of travel coordination for the wedding next year, I have been given access to the website soon to be released. In there you can find information about the weddees (the two who are getting married in case you didn't get it), what they like and don't and so forth. Bro has chosen this song as his favourite. Not sure how I'm gonna interprete that.

Christmas in Bulgaria

Today I got an email from Bro telling me which flights they plan to Bulgaria over Christmas. After having spoken to many friends, and having all of them tell me that I'm an idiot if I don't go, I have caved in. With time, I might even start to look forward to it... It is helpful that we all will fly out from Zürich, and that Bro is making the flight reservations. If not, I might have come up with more explanations why it isn't possible. Also that we're flying thru Vienna, and not Budapest. When I left Hungary I swore I would never set foot in that country again. Now I don't have to. Christmas in Bulgaria, really mixed feelings!

Promotion

I have been promoted. Now I'm not only a guest to the weddingoftheyear 2011, but I'm part of the organizational team. Even created a new category cleverly called "Wedding", since I think there will be loadsa items to write about. I'm in charge of communications. Who is coming? When are they flying in? Where are they staying? Do they need transport from the airport? And back? It's my job to inform all these people (100+!), and somehow I think it's only a honorary position. Like working for no pay. Hmmm. Nevertheless, think Bro knew what he did when he asked me. Have already created the template spreadsheet...me, the nerd!
