Ze Swiss are difficult. But it made me think about the item I posted on how to spell. Ze Swiss spell how they see fit, which is perhaps not always a bad idea. Fuck rules. Oxymoron in itself since ze Swiss love rules. Anyway.
Point being (I am pretty certain there was one!) is that I learned today that "Wiesn" being the code word for Oktoberfest has nothing to do with Weissbier but means lawn. Huh? Like grass on a football field you know. Why? Apparently inherited from Münich where the "real" Oktoberfest is.
Never got an answer to why that is though. Ze Swiss remain a mystery to me, which is probably why I love them so much!
